Default Opinions on my setlist.

Didn't know if this should be here or on the General BJ forum but I'll post it here just in case.

Hi Me and my band are gonna perform a BJ tribute show at a (I guess you could say it's the equivalent of a state fair in the US.) We need more money and fast to begin recording our demo but with the shitty pay we get from the bars we need this gig. Here's the setlist I have in mind up until now, it is a very insecure set so please hit me with your thoughts if you think anything is missing or should not be performed.

Bounce
One wild night
You give love a bad name
I believe
Fear
Born to be my baby
The Distance
Hey God
These days
Always
Just Older
Raise your hands
Bad Medicine/Shout
----------------------------------------------
Wanted Dead or Alive
Everyday
Dry county
Livin on a prayer
----------------------------------------------
It's my life
Keep the Faith

Don't know how long they will let us play yet so maybe some songs could be added or taken off.But we have these rehearsed and ready to go for next week.
So, opinions suggestions??

I'd get rid of hey god cos it';s not really something people can get into, not too sure about everyday either but i just don't liek those 2 songs very much.

If you can nail dry county properly then you've got to do that just to show off.

If the set gets cut short you should start taking out tunes than people who aren't really into bon jovi will know like Fear and These Days.

2 great tunes but you've gotta play for the audience.

Aloha !

If you really manage to play all the guitarsolo's and riffs properly it's a good set though like Jim said you should leave out the unknown songs like Fear, These Days and The Distance, which isn't a Bon Jovi song to me. And about Hey God; it's really a song that shouldn't be played at a tribute gig, as people expect having a good time and not a song about the misery in the world, plus that some people might think it's an offensive song.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

Well Hey God it's a probable song and We've played The distance before and It's always gone down well(it was at our shows though) and Dry county is not really that difficult apart from the solo, and that song just came as a suggestion because our guitar player Jeff really want's to show off.

dry county isn't as difficult to nail as faith, if you play it as richie does and don't improvise. i'd take fear out for a kick off and maybe lean more towards to crossroad and crush albums.

i agree that hey god and fear maybe arent all that hot...i think u should keep everyday, class song...and i think the distance is a great song with a great solo but it isnt all that known.

faith is a tougher solo then DC for sure, i dont fidn dc that hard in truth. with faith some improvisation is gonna happen, especially with the end solo, just be careful not to over do it...

other songs perhaps is blaze of glory, saturday night or lay your hands on me?....i think also u should put runaway, considering its relevance
