Default Ozzy, The Doors threaten action over illegal KrapTrashian T-shirts

WAAF: Kendall and Kylie Jenner (Kardashian) recently released a line of limited-edition t-shirts on their online shop with their faces and initials superimposed over rap and rock royalty, including the Doors...Metallica...and Ozzy Osbourne...

As you can imagine, artists, or the estates thereof, found the shirts to be insensitive...

Sharon Osbourne took to Twitter... "Girls, you haven’t earned the right to put your face with musical icons. Stick to what you know…lip gloss."

Rolling Stone: The Doors have sent a cease-and-desist letter..."Your use...is likely to cause confusion, mistake or to deceive consumers into believing that the Kendall + Kylie apparel was authorized by the Doors when no such authorization was sought or provided by the Doors...

"In addition to trademark infringement and unfair competition...The superimposing of a selfie of Kendall Jenner over the iconic 'Lion' portrait of the late Jim Morrison is offensive and remarkable for its failure to recognize the rights of the estate of Mr. Morrison to control the use of his likeness..."

NewsJS.com: Now, the sisters are both issuing a matching apology to any all who might have been offended by their actions, making it clear that they have also removed the tees from the shelves (though it’s unclear how much was actually left to remove, as it had all but sold out).

“These designs were not well thought out and we deeply apologize to anyone that has been upset and/or offended, especially to the families of the artists. We are huge fans of their music and it was not our intention to disrespect these cultural icons in anyway [sic]. The tee shirts have been pulled from retail and all images have been removed.” The pair also said in their statement, “We will use this opportunity to learn from these mistakes and again, we are very sorry.”

Their price? 125.00 USD/109.00 EUR -- each. So while they are very sorry, the KrapTrashians are also very richer if their initial inventory did sell out. If they're really very sorry, they'd "use the opportunity" to announce that they're taking refunds or give the profits to charity, don't you think? THEY sure don't.
