I'm guessing you're having a hard time installing an anti-virus program, that it's creating conflicts with the rest of your system? Try installing the program while your computer is in Safe-Mode. That might work.

Safe-Mode starts your computer up with just the bare necessities running, so there are no software conflicts. I haven't accessed it in ages, but what I think you do is select Restart from Start>Shut Down and then as soon as your computer turns off, but before it restarts, hold down the F8 key, and keep holding it down till a new menu pops up (it'll be a DOS menu) select the number for Safe-Mode, and it'll boot your computer up again, this time in Safe-Mode. Install your software from there. I don't know if this'll work, but it can't hurt anything (I don't think...).

Thank you guys, for the moment it's ok for me ..... for the moment

I've download again the free titanium version of Panda, no conflicts, the pc don't ask anymore for some "strange" missing files, i have my xp firewall andeverything is working allright now.

But i'll remember this thread and i'm glad if people can find some help from others here

OMG mine is asking exactly the same thing!!! What have you done to correct it? Should I delete all anti-virus programmes and reinstall??

I have a test version of Norman anti virus (which is probably expanded) and now have avg but it is asking for the missing file! If I install McAffe (did it before I downloaded AVG) my PC blocked for 10').

Jess, help me? As I am afraid the same thing 'll happen to me and my PC...

Yes, that's exactly what you have to do and use regcleaner too. Then reinstall your anti virus, i thought i couldn't download Panda again, because i used the free month but in fact there is no problem, i have it again for one month and apparently it can go on and on.
I think the other problem was a conflict between Kerio (a free firewall) and msn but i just have my xp firewall now and it's enough.
I think it would be a better idea if you remove avg too for the moment and reinstall norton, at least you shouldn't have this windows asking you for some files again...
Then if you want to use AVG instead of Norton you will see, but one thing at once. Hope you understand .....
