I know you are all seeing the funny side of this, but for some of us phobias are a real problem.

I have a phobia of spiders myself. It is not funny. I spent 6 months seeing a clinical pyschologist about it, it did no good what so ever.

When I see a big spider I scream, cry and hyperventilate. This can last for some time and is really frightening for me and anyone around me at the time. I will then spend the next few days being jumpy and looking around every room I walk into expecting to see another spider.

I know this may sound pretty silly, but a phobia by definition is an irrational fear, therefor I cant help it.

This may sound over the top, but my fear of spiders really does affect my life.

So next time someone near you asks you to help with their phobia (ie killing all spiders) please try and see it from their point of view and DO NOT hold the spider, wave it at them and go AAAAAAAARRRGH! It is NOT funny.

I like spiders..but most of my friends are so scared of them.. and the other bugs.. When we were in Greece, I saw a green bug in the bathroom and they wouldn't enter anymore.. I'm quite scared of some bugs, but I don't know what they're called in English.. We call them strsljens. I have a bug in my nickname.. I like bugs even though those strsljens scare the hell out of me. I'm gonna have a tarantula as a pet someday..

I just can't imagine having a spider as a pet, but if you own one it is one less in the world that is going to get me, so yay!

Yeah, I've read about your phobia. It must be awful to have such a phobia.. especially when it comes to bugs cause they're everywhere! A friend of mine has a spider as a pet.. That's where I got the idea..
Anyway, I hope you'll get better, somehow; I've learned about phobias and I know that you can't control yourself. I'll have tons of pet spiders so they won't get anywhere near you!
