my question on that whole thing is: why the hell did they shoot 'em???? if they had taken them into custody (and i'm sure that they were able to) they could've been worthier than dead for i think that they knew where their father is....

btw: in a paper here was a caricature of saddam cryin' over pictures of his sons which showed them back in times when they were babies- the point was the opposite of those three in the painting and in real life- many laughed about that but at the end of the day a father's children were shot...

btw: DEFINATELY right RichieW2001

Secret Intelligence (called so, because we don't know where they store their intelligence ) more than likely got the information of this as they tortured them, if they did. Or the sons died keeping their secret. I saw pictures of them on the news, and I was surprised to see what Mongoose described. It is evident that they were beaten - that much, I believe, is clear.

The Iraqi people have a right to see the bodies. For instance, if someone high up on authority in America or Great Britian was killed, or supposedly killed; we would more than likely want more proof than pictures broadcasted around the world. Or even not a public authority member at all. Say, a famly member was murdered and the killer was supposedly killed. You would want to see proof of his body, or you won't get closure.

US military proper form is to not put on display their prisoners of war - that's why a) people freaked out when the Iraqi's did it via Al-Jazeera television when they captured US military personnel and b) so many people are suspicious of what the US military does do to their prisoners of war, thus the complaints about the al-queda operatives that are holed up down by Cuba.
Also, the genuine effort to not exploit the overly graphic images on TV so as not to offend viewers needs to be balanced with coverage of a horrific reality of life on this planet so that no one blindly wave a flag without knowiing the true scope of what is happening in their name.

That said, the US should be quid pro quo - we should not have seen the images of Hussein's sons.
On the other hand, there needed to be absolute proof that what the US claimed was accurate, as their track record or late has been less than stellar.
From all reports, whether you agree with the US being in Iraq or not, the two brothers added nothing positive to this planet.

I don't think many ppl can argue with that, however I think the pictures of them dead were as much for us as for the Iraqis, as in no way do they constitute absolute proof, as confirmed by the numbers of Iraqis reported as not being convinced. & why did we need to see them anyway?? Surely it was only the Iraqis that needed to see them....

Yes, well... perhaps the Iraqis who don't believe they're really dead can get together with the Germans who think the US planned the 9/11 attacks and they can all go bowling together.
Whether it is disbelief out of residual fear of the regime or disbelief due to undying loyalty to Hussein's regime, the US government is short on credibility at the moment and is probably attempting to solidify whatever evidence they have in their favor.

some people deserve to die, the people in that house were some of them.
the US didn't need to put those pictures on the air but the fact remains that the iraqi's along with many westeners, myself included would find it very hard to believe those 2 were dead without proof.

i can't have seen the 2 of them allowing themselves to be taken prisoners and even if they were beaten, maybe during it they would have experienced what they dished out, and worse to alot of their own people.

Great! The US government is now in the job of deciding who makes a positive contribution to the planet, and if they don't measure up we have 'em killed? That fills me with loads of confidence.

DNA proofing from an independent party would have been more convincing proof than some photos.

In this instance it is a good thing they are dead, I'm not saying that anyone has the right to decide who lives and dies, but these 2 were 2 sick puppies. They brutally raped women and tortured and killed anyone who didn't agree with them. Sometimes the women they raped they just picked up off the streets, if they liked the look of them. If they weren't the sons of Saddam they would have been put away or killed a long time ago, but because of who they were they literally got away with murder.
