I think we should scrap the jamming idea, and either hire a "pro"-cover band or just stick to the piss up idea (with a Dj or summat). The jamming idea could end up being 4 untalented musicians making a noise.

I was thinking more 16 musicians all wanting a piece. Sorry If I put in some bias, but I tried to make the Pro's & Cons as fair as possible. If someone can work out prices for having a Jam. & For hiring a cover band, it might give us more idea as to what we want to do.

and being near xmas, it would be futile to travel anywhere without good reason... dependant on the the calibre of cover band you want youre looking at between 200 quid - a grand plus.

and it wouldnt be four untalented people... if it was gonan be organised i think that might factor into the equation.

but as i said those are just my thoughts, but if it's just gonna turn into a huge pissup with nothing else thenim afraid i wont be there. call me a spoilsport or whatever... also a DJ is a bad idea- from expreience they play what they wannt to hear... not what you want to hear.. a better idea would be someone bring teir cd collection..

Default What should we do

First off what country are you throwing this party? It doesn't have to cost alot even if you wanted a tribute act. I know some get paid outrageous and are not worth it, but I play in a Jovi trib and for fan club Partys we will bring our own P.A lights a three set night and a great live show for around $1000 canadian. If it is really close we do it cheaper. Some tributes only care about the money and arent even fans of the band. They just see B>J has sold 100,000,000 albums and say hey lets do them. Sorry I'm blithering, do both open with the jam it doesnt cost anything than have a trib all the while get pissed up!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ROCK N ROLL

I think we should all meet up in the centre of England, Manchester/Birmingham and just go and have a few drinks (some more than others) and have a laugh with each other. I dont know if many people have met before this thing has been mentioned but, i reckon the idea of just having a laugh and getting drunk sounds better than going and seeing a tribute band or having a jam somewhere, not everyone is into that sort of thing!
