Default Problems with watching a VCD..

Hey all,

Just received the "BJ - Tokyo - 28.04.1985 VCD". When I tried to play it on my PC it only plays the last track; the other files are inaccesable by my mediaplayers. When I try to copy the to my HD it takes 30 mins for 60 mb and when it's almost done I get an error saying: "Unable to copy; not a correct MS-DOS function".

I thought it probably was a nice show to share here in someway...maybe someone can help me out?

Unfortunately I have had the same problem with some VCDs - and I have gotten the same message. I never found a way around it. Did you try just copying the .DAT files one at a time to your hard drive? That will sometimes work.

Ok, little bit of a break-through here.....when I open the file(s) in PowerDVD XP it starts playing the file, but video and audio are on now an then (because the cd-rom reads it to slow I guess)...maybe someone has a repairprogram for .dat files?

Thanks,
Aragorn

You should try to rip it with isobuster. That might help www.isobuster.com!

There's a damaged Tokyo85 VCD going around... mine is damaged as well.

That might cause the problems.

Ok, finally managed to solve the problem....and as always the problem is easier to solve then you first think: I putted the cd in my dad's PC and there it works ok (copied the tracks of the vcd and burned them on an new cd). Thanks to everybody who helped me to solve the problem!
