The sad thing is that apparently they aren't even "real" soldiers... they are some kind of maintainance unit... one of them reportedly said "I fix things".

It is of course possible Rumsfeld was talking about reports of that unlucky Brittish plane. But I am quite sure he knew what the media was asking about....

I only saw a small clip of the footage and by what you said im glad. Iraq says now its going to comply with the geneva rule. But its a little late now as they have already broadcast there faces (against the rule) and by the looks of things tortured them. It makes me sick.

The funny thing is that at first Al-Jazeera reported 1 pilot captured, then 2 pilots. At that time US said there aren't any missing planes or pilots. After about 30 mins, Rumsfeld said he has reports of a missing plane. And then Iraqis (!!!) said they haven't captured any pilots yet. But they are still searching for them...
dont know who to trust these days

quote from yahoo:
Some of the prisoners looked terrified. One captive, who said he was from Kansas, answered all his questions in a shaky voice, his eyes darting back and forth between the interviewer and another person who couldn't be seen on camera.

Asked why he came to Iraq (news - web sites), he replied, "I come to fix broke stuff."

Prodded again by the interviewer, he was asked if he came to shoot Iraqis.

"No, I come to shoot only if I am shot at," he said. "They (Iraqis) don't bother me, I don't bother them."

he's from Kansas too

Glad you brought this up.

How about all the Iraqi soldiers surrendering and being search lying on the ground? That surely qualifies as a violation as well.

How about the US violating UN Charter? I laughed like hell when Rumsfeld and Bush started whining about the Geneva convention. Iraq stated they need to examine if the captured soldiers can be treated as POWs or not a couple of days ago... what war? It's an unprovoked attack, an invasion! They are dropping bombs on them and yelling "treat us nice" at the same time???

There should be a rule of war like "Don't attack an opponent 100 times less powerful than yourself, pick one of your own size!"

And? They knew what they were signing up for when they joined. Do you feel as sad for the many innocent Iraqis that have been murdered by coallition bombs? Or for a young Iraqi child that will now be paralized for the rest of her life because of the bombing?
