i'm an insomniac as well because i have nightmares practically every night, but with me it's the opposite- since i don't fall asleep until 3 or 4, i end up dreaming all the way until i wake up around 9 or 10- and those are the hours i've noticed i'll dream the most, which means i always remember the nightmares because they constantly wake me up. i always have the weirdest dreams during the morning hours- creepy ones that just scare the crap out of me, lol. lately i've been having the strangest problem- i won't be asleep, just like maybe half asleep or in that "morning state" where i'm awake but just staying in bed to listen to music or think. and i'll have these quick dreams where it's just like a picture that comes into my mind of something incredibly gross or weird, or it won't be a picture but like a little mini dream type thing, and then i'll just open my eyes, almost like i "wake up", even if i wasn't asleep, from whatever the little dream thing was. just recently i was lying in bed listening to music and it was early morning, and suddenly i must have drifted off... because i dreamt i was zooming in on the world, and then into a neighborhood, and a house, and in the backyard was a pool, and as i zoomed in closer i could see it was a woman gagged and hands tied floating dead in the pool as soon as i saw her i 'woke up' and totally freaked out, lol. it's things like that that make me not want to go to sleep.

I'd also have a lot about me and my family trapped in this one big castle thing...i never know what happens to the rest of my family, but my brother and i are trapped in this one room with HUGE checkered tiles, only the black tiles weren't there - and my brother fell through when we were trying to get out.
I also had quite a bit of dreams about this one dinosaur that lived in my house, but my parents didn't know about it that one was pretty **** up.
wow that is really weird in fact its made me feel cold as one of my dreams is that im stuck in a room where there are black and white tiles on the floor and im trying to get out but the door keeps getting smaller and shapes keep getting in the way what do you think it means?

According to somet theories you can stop a recurring dream. If the dream is indeed indicative of a problem you're working on subconsciously, solve the problem and the dream will go away. LOL Or you could try hypnotherapy to recall the dream and tackle it with your conscious mind to understand it.

I would interpret the dream you described as being about some situation in your life that you're trying to control and have a loose grip on. It's putting you in danger either physically or emtionally.

Becky
I tried hypnotherapy but it didnt work

You can learn to control your dreams though, not sure how as I've always been able to do it, but there are loads of books on the subject. For nightmares, trying hanging a dreamcatcher above your bed, they're supposed to catch bad dreams so you don't have nightmares any more. Well, it's worth a try!

eating or drinking before bed is a problem. cutting out foods like cheese etc, which stimulate certain areas of the brain, cuts down on the vividity of the dreams. a lot of people simply have a lot of REM sleep which is very difficult to cut down on as it's thought to be genetic rather than down to the environment.

ive been having alot of dreams latekly but i usually do whenever ive got exams coming up whether i'm worried about them or not.

only ever had a dream recurring 3 times years apart from when i was pretty young and nothign actually happened in it i just remember being on a farm with a woman and that was about it.

a mate on my old college course told me how he had recurring dreams about planes crashing and it was pretty freaky.

I don't usually remember my dreams and wouldn't like to. They seem strange and hard to understand and I hate it when they start vanishing little by little. I prefer to remember nothing at all!!

I usually have a recurring dream when I'm stressed or going through a difficult time. I'm sitting with a Maths exam in front of me and don't know the answer to any question. Then I get ver, very nervous... and I wake up feeling horrible!
