I'll have to agree with that - horseshit
from www.play.com FAQ's:

Why are there codes for different regions?
Imposed by the film studios due to the staggered theatrical release of movies worldwide and to protect exclusive markets, region coding was designed as a method of ensuring discs would be playable only in certain geographical locations

F****** greedy bastards!!!!

One of the people that died during a basketball match afetr drinking 4 cans of red bull was diagnosed as having died from "Sudden Adult Death Syndrome"...

Is that the most scientific thing they could come up with??

I think it's always been banned in Germany. I remember some people driving to Austria to get Red Bull - waste of gas in my opinion.

Though, I've never tried it with vodka
it's not banned in germany. in fact, it has this huge marketing campaign there... i bet they make most of there profits in germany too... Red Bull is disgusting

it was invented in austria and by an austrian so it's quite big here but i don't like it- tastes like ugly chewing gum... the only good thing on it is that mateschitz (the inventor) spends much on his money on education programmes
we analysed red bull in sports nutrition and found nothing really unhealthy or an overdosing of e.g. guarana or caffeine; so i don't think you get any damages from drinking it- for sure the dose makes the poison so f you drink too much of it you might get hyperactive or have sleeping problems. i wouldn't give it to my kids though (if i had some ) i also can't see why it got banned in france...

well statistics in switzerland show that about 90% of the people only drink it with alcohol, usually vodka. and often the first time that teenagers really drink alcohol, they start with vodka red bull. (it's sweet, so they like it, while many of them don't like beer untill they are a few years older. oh and of course the girls drink it too, and they don't like beer as much as the boys). all these sweet "alcopops" (smirnoff ICE is another very popular example) have lowered the age when kids for the first time have problems with alcohol. over here they didn't ban it, but they increased the price for red bull and smirnoff ICE recently. maybe this was also one of the reasons why they banned it in france...
