Was just wondering. Where do the renevues go to when a bible is sold?

Hope it's not the vatican, they only take and not give away. With all their money and earnings they can stop poverty in Africa but nooo, that wouldn't be right

well everyone else in the board seems to be taking part in this thread so why not. lol

as for the bible, although im neither an expert or a layman on it, the bible (NT anyway) was writtian by many men ie. peter, john, mark and luke who were part of jesus original 12. most of the new testement was writtian by Paul who although was not part of the original 12 was around at the time of jesus.

Ok, but as I thought the first and last are completely different. Chapter completely different, new ones added.
So it can never be reliable can it?

no the version that is in the bible now are the versions that were in the bible back then, there have been different books added to the original number and then taken away. the catholic version has more books that the potestent ones. as for reliablity the bible is the same as it always was. the teaching are the same as it always was. maybe a few words have been retranslated i.e. the red sea to the reed sea in the OT.

I'm not saying that, I'm saying it's the richest institute on this planet and they are doing nothing and never did anything good with that money
They have easily the ability to stop poverty (i've seen it multiple times in Afric its horrible) in terms of cash, now if they would at least help that would be a gesture that is god-like - but no the vatican choses not to help others in need

well dont mean to offend you but i think that stament is a bit niave. there are more catholic organisations out in africa than anyother helping the poor and the straving. groups like SVP, Trocroia that lift millions of pounds every year for the peple in africa, other organisations that go out to bulid hospitals and houses. vatican does a lot of help for the people of africa. they could do more yes but compaired to any other country they are very good

from catholic homes and what not. during lent all catholics are given a box in which to fill money for the 6 weeks and then its returned to trocroia. if you are referring to the vatian itself maybe you should take a look at the figures before you say it gives nothing.
