I was wondering if anyone knows...

My portable CD player included a remote control. A few days ago it stopped working, except for the volume, which works normally. Does anyone know if these remote controls are sold individually? The guy at the shop I went to wasn't very sure about it, but he said that in case they are actually sold individually it would cost me about 40 euros

Has any of you had this problem? Does any of you know if I can buy it and whether it's true that's the price?
