RIP my princess Nika

Unfortunately those things can happen to perfectly healthy animals. I believe the same is true for humans. No matter how healthy one is, there is a small chance that one doesn't make it through anesthesia.

I am very sorry for your loss, but know that the 4 years she had with you were the best years She was loved and taken care of, she had a great life, even if it was quite short.

It'll take a long time till you are back to a place where you don't call out for her or wait for her pawing at you or hear her sigh..... but you will be able to move on and always keep her with you in your heart.

I know what you mean ... I lost my dog in December last year. Was my best friend for 15 years......... I know we had the luck that he got old but it doesn't make the goodbye easier.
Almost a year now and I still have bad days cause of it.
I miss him so much.

Whatever we say, it can't make it better but I hope some responses from people who understand your pain can help a bit.

I'm really sorry for you loss, you must be devastated .I think its worse then lossing someone you know when you lose a pet that is so close.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss.. I know what it is like to lose a pet, I recently had to euthanise our family cat, he was 20 - although I knew the end was near it was still the hardest and most horrid thing I have ever done. Take your time to grieve, even though you don't think so now, the pain will get less and you will be left with beautiful happy memories.
