Someones death?

I'm with Jim on this, sure it's sad when someone dies but when it's someone you've never met, no matter how good a life they've led, you can't honestly be too upset about it.
I met the Pope when i was 10 yrs old in Cardiff, my mother went for communion and i was with her, he touched my head and asked me my name!

With all respect Allwyn, if you do decide to follow a certain belief you really do need to educate yourself on all facets of that particular faith. Claiming ignorance will not make the issue any less horrid than it is.

He told gullible people that if they use a condom they will go to hell.

I don't know how that could ever be looked at in any more of a favorable way than the heinous act of a religious nut, is beyond me.

unfortunately, I don't think that would do much good.

I truly believe that the majority of 'believers' would go literally insane if they didn't have the church to cling to and what would we do with millions of crazies on the streets?

On second thought, the pharma industry might do quite well

I don't know much about him, but I know that a lot of people are touched by his death so apparently he will be missed by a lot of people and I'm no one to say those who miss him are wrong.
I think I heard on the newsthat he had lost his family very young.
And still he became head of a church(or religion), and president of a country, that's admirable at least to me.
Plus anybody who can speak more languages than I can count on one hand has my respects.

RIP, pope.

That's the thing though - he never said that. That's been added by others. He simply didn't talk about condoms one way or another at least as far as I know which, I confess, is not that much. People have taken the omission as portraying he was against them. But you could also argue that conservatory people within the church felt the opposite way.

And once again - I'm not defending that.

You don't make sense here. I explained u last time what i beliefs are and that time u didnt have much to say or ask.... I'm not going to repeat again... And there is no rules to follow in ur belief and faith....and i'm not die hard follower of church or i ever claim to be most relgious person...
But my point is regarding church not always follow Pope and its really not fair to say because of Pope didn't approve condom, every catholic stop using it

In reference to the whole condoms thing, I just remembered the Monty Python song...

Every Sperm Is Sacred

There are Jews in the world.
There are Buddhists.
There are Hindus and Mormons, and then
There are those that follow Mohammed, but
I've never been one of them.

I'm a Roman Catholic,
And have been since before I was born,
And the one thing they say about Catholics is:
They'll take you as soon as you're warm.

You don't have to be a six-footer.
You don't have to have a great brain.
You don't have to have any clothes on. You're
A Catholic the moment Dad came,

Because

Every sperm is sacred.
Every sperm is great.
If a sperm is wasted,
God gets quite irate.

It is not stupid at all, but I don't expect you to agree.

As far as the too smart thing. Read what I said --- I didn't say anything about intelligence did I? You are better off taking my words for what they are and stop reading into them. And it is TRUE :P.

the only reason I didn't have anything to say to it and don't this time either, is because I don't understand what your point is.
