A life sentence is much more painful because it actually makes you dwell on what you have and have not done.

And I'm also against death penalty because the state is in no way capable of making a fair decision and because by killing "legally" they are commiting exactly the same crime the person committed. The deaths under Hussein's regime were as "legal" or illegal as Hussein's will be - they will be all of them ratified by the law.
