George Bush is not shortsighted. He has been very efficient in delivering votes so that very big business - and particularly the oil/energy part of big business gets what they want. He is doing exactly what he said he would do when he ran for president - and a majority of people in this country voted for him - so he can get away with it. He was very open about tax givaways to the richest 1% of the population in his campaign. He has all the votes, in the House, in the Senate and now he will have the Supreme Court. There really isn't anything legally anyone can do to stop him - or even limit the damage he is doing.

For someone like me - it is very depressing .
