I'm going to step in for a moment here...it was originally my thread, so I think that's appropriate.

If you sign a contract saying you're going to receive money from me in exchange for your labor, and you know in advance all the rules and regulations you have to follow, DO NOT complain about those rules and regulations after the fact. You signed that contract knowing what was in it - if you have a problem with it, quit, accept it, or get fired.

What you're doing on someone else's dollar IS their business. Jim's sandals and chaps might not affect his ability to work well, but he did agree to abide by certain rules in exchange for a check. The person/company paying you has no business telling him he cannot wear those items when they are not paying him. Same with crosses, headcoverings, and those little leather boxes filled with scrolls that some people tie on to their clothing.

When you're on the clock, you are voluntarily submitting yourself to the company's ownership. Off the clock, do what ever you want.

Adrian

your personal life and your worklife are two seperate spheres. my boss doesn;t care how drunk i get when i'm on a shift or if i do drugs or not but as soon as i'm in work i better be sober.

no ones stopping those folk from wearng their cross too and from work. she wasnt even asked to take it off, just to put it under her shirt.

im assuming she's not the only person in an organisation that big who wears a cross so i have to think this case came to the fore for another reason because you didn;t have an influx of fellow christian BA folk rushign to her defence or sayign they'd been reprimanded too.
