It was basically a talk/variety show, where things rarely went as planned. In addition, there was never a real person on the show...ever. It was always socks and objects.
There were a bunch of different segments in the show, as follows:
Calls From the Public: In this segment, people could call into the show (well, they were all staged using puppets and objects, such as toilets, boxes, forks, etc.) They were supposed to ask Sifl and Olly questions, but that rarely happened, and when a question was asked, it was rarely coherent. And every so often their landlord would call in and yell at them for things such as waterslide construction and monkeys burrowing into the center of the earth.
Interview Time: In this segment, they would interview someone or something. Sometimes they would have movie stars and other famous people scheduled, but they were always cancelled because of budget problems (and one time, Sifl was replaced by a robot, who cancelled Wynonna Ryder (sp?) for a AA battery).
A Word With Chester: Chester is probably one of the funniest characters ever to grace television. He was a friend of Sifl's who hung out at the studio, so they gave him his own part of the show. Now, Chester was incredibly stupid and always acted like he was high on...something...but he was incredibly lovable a funny. And he loves cereal.
Rock Facts: This was a trivia part of the show, usually based around rock and roll, however, none of the facts were ever true.
Precious Roy: Sifl and Olly also worked for the Precious Roy home shopping network, and on every show, they would sell one of his products. It worked a lot like QVC, except the products were absurd. After every segment, Precious would always chime in with something like, "This is Precious Roy...wha...get in the plane!" or "This is Precious Roy, and I'm locked in a van with a ferret!" or "This is Precious Roy, and they call me Aunt Julie at the home!"
S&O News: This was a very brief part of the show with Sifl and Olly as news anchors, and they would usually just argue.
Songs: Every show featured about 3 songs, which were sometimes pretty funny (my favorite is "Speed Reading"), usually sung by Sifl and Olly, and sometimes Chester.
Like I said, it was a hilarious show. You can download all of the episodes off of Kazaa (just search for "Sifl"). You can also check out the official site at
www.sifl-n-olly.com , or you can check out the Sifl and Olly archive (my fav) at
www.najical.com/s-o/ . Also, I could send you some mp3s of some of the skits if you're interested. But you should definately look into this show...it's hilarious!
