for some reason when i was at primary school we were taught the song as follows:

"Red and yellow and pink and green, purple and orange and blue... i can sing a rainbow, sing a rainbow, sing a rainbow too"

that sounds much more like the gay association...

... other than the one that appears in heavy rock music...

how do you catch a rainbow though?

Intersting trivia here too, but DIO who sings a lot about rainbows, was the vocalist in rainbow where he also sang a lot about rainbows, and during the first 1975-6 tour the Scorpions (who also sang a lot about rainbows) opened for Rainbow. Before hand, DP MK III used the influence of rainbows and it was the backdrop for the California Jam performances where Black Sabbath played (DIO and also Glenn Hughes - later joined black sabbath as vocalists)... at the same time on that tour the support band for Deep Purple was a band called Elf - where Ronnie James DIO was the lead vocalist...

i'm quite proud of myself for knowing all that useless (but not pointless) trivia

A rainbow is also a symbol for a promise from God from the story of Noah and the flood. The story goes that the first rainbow appeared afterwards as a promise that God wouldn't destroy the earth with another flood.

Gay "logo" isn't a rainbow, and to be picky, it's not even a gay logo. It's a mark for acceptance, unity. Whoever associates rainbows with gays must be pretty racistic.

Rainbow is something good, better times. It's also the beginning of a new era, after the rain comes the sun and stuff like that.

Again, stupid post. You didn't even read the post you quoted.

"It's a mark for acceptance, unity."

That's what it's about, not about being gay or not. It's about everyone accepting everyone else. If you think that's "gay" or have a problem with it, it's really just your problem.

Even if it looks like there's nothing to gain, there's still the rainbow, even if you can't see it...

maybe you don't remember your own words. i quote "Whoever associates rainbows with gays must be pretty racistic"

so the gays are rasistic because they put up rainbow flags in their community?
