I've found it quite inspirational. It's better than "The all-encompassing energy force is apathetic if you try or not."

Why was the original post deleted/edited in the first place?

im actually half considering going to berlin for new year. as tends to happen me and a mate had a few beers yesterday, got talking about my european trip and i said doing new year at the brandenburg gate would be amazing and we could camp in the park next to the reichstag so all we'd need are flights lol

on a slightly cool related note. im watching century of warfare on the history channel and it's tslkign about the berlin wall. it's kind of cool that ive got a little chunk of it sitting out in my garden

There ain't much food, but enough booze to keep you happy (though probably just for a night based on your drinking habit) and yeah, you live with me, but please don't embarrass me in front of my neighbours. Remember, I have to live here all year....

I think Europe is much cooler for new year as everybody does fire works. Here the fire works is put on by the city and sometimes (as of in recent years) people might have some firecrackers or other lame crap. I ususally celebrate with the east coast at 9pm and go to bed. (yeah I know I am a live wire....)

not as cool as actually having stood in front of it and crossed checkpoint charlie when it was more than a sign on the road......

sorry maria i did a bit of googling last night and that big party they hold between the gate and victory column looks amazing so if i can get digs i'm going to berlin.

ive text around everyone askign if they fancy it. as per, what everyone thinks is a really cool idea they're really up for in the pub falls flat on its arse but my sister seems up for it and even if not, i'd go on my own

my brother said: what's the point? it's just new years eve somewhere else
.
i don't think he realises that pretty much is the point. he's a philistine.

ill start saving my pennies for seattle next year. you know i'd be much more inclined to come if you had some sort of spring break thing going on.......

That's what my family says everytime I ask them to rent a house in Tuscany for a week for us to get together. They say it's not hot enough in May and there is nothing to do but hang out on the patio. Well, that is exactly what I want to do .... have everybody there by the pool, drink wine all day and eat french bread and chill. I asked my sister if she wanted to come to London for 4 days while I am in Germany and she looked at me and asked: "what would we be doing in london?"!!!!!!!!! ARGHHGHGHGH ..... I don't know how it is possible I came out of that same household...

I'll be sooner to come to Scotland than you to Seattle, me thinks. You know we aren't known for our spring breaks (it's soggy and rainy here at spring break). If you believe Courtney Love, it would be heroin we are known for. Anyway, it's really the earthy, outdoors kind of stuff we are into around here and definitely NOT the drinking. Oh, oh, we do have a really good local music scene you'd be totally in favor for, I am sure.

a friend's just a stranger you haven't met

from my few weeks travelling through europe, amongst other things I:

have an invite to stay with a guy i met if i ever find myself in south korea

got an offer to go camping in the aussie outback with a mad fireman that babysat me in berlin for a few nights

invited to a poker night back here in glasgow

got took to an underground reggae/ dub club with a bunch of germans i'd met in the train 3 minutes beforehand

got asked if i want to hire a white convertable with a girl in new york and drive across the states

and i've got somewhere to sleep if i ever find myself in atlanta, toronto or uganda.

i love how cool and random the stuff is

my bro's kind of coming round to the idea. i showed him my photos of the boulevard and told him that and the tiergarden would be rammed with drunk people which kind of perked his interest.

i asked my new missus too. she says she doesnt usually decide what shes doing until the week before christmas. i told her we were booking up before the weekends over hopefully and she should come since im telling my boss i need the whole new year weekend off because she bought me a trip to berlin for christmas

on a slightly more related note. i really do plan to come to seattle one day. i'd love to take all of the peoples offer up but the most likely one is the going across america even if it's not in a big white shark and seattle isnt too far from san fransisco if my possibly ignorant small island mentality isn't mistaken
