yes, but it's a vicious circle. nothing of what happens in northern ireland or israel would happen if there weren't tyrannised and chased people there. terrorism brings terrorism even if the one is considered "legal" terrorism while the other is not. and it's always the innocents and not their governments the ones who pay the price.

I don't think the violent people living in the Basque Country are what you call oppressed. Average, law-abiding citizens are, though. There are ways of fighting for things, and terrorism is not the way. With these acts, the are throwing stones on their own roof. The more violent they become, the harder the measures against them would be. Supposedly.

i know little of what happens in spain (i was mainly talking about ireland and israel) but i don't understand why a group of people would resort to such violent acts without any given reason. because they're violent?

Because a guy called Sabino Arana invented something where he said they (the people from the Basque country) were a superior race and thus their own nation, so they needed to separate from Spain. Ever since, these people have been trying to reach their independence by killing the people that came in their way (and some others too).

Okay, I know it's a very simplistic version of the conflict, but that's how how see it anyway.

Cause a jerk, as racist as Hitler (Sabino Arana) 100 years ago created a stupid racist party. If you want more information about what Sabino Arana wrote, I´ll send it to you. Or you can read "mein kampf". its the same

Rumours said that they wanted to destroy the building of the newspaper "LA RAZÖN". "La Razon" is the more conservative newspaper of Spain, specially antinationalist.

Remember that ETA is nationalist and stalinist

Btw, it wouldnt be the first time that ETA attack journalists. They dont like freedom of speech.

Well, I could do away with that paper, but in a more symbolic way.

Of course ETA is against freedom of speech... They don't like people who, unlike them, think by themselves.

The thing with the problem in Ulster is that the Loyalists in Northern Ireland are happy to be British and don't want home rule which obviously the republicans disagree with.

And it's a bit like the kettle calling the pot black in this case. Both sides are as guilty as each other of causing the trouble. It's a common misconception that the "evil" British government are solely responsible for the easter rising and the resulting problems.

Saying that, none of it really matters anymore cause they're all just a bunch of gangsters now fighting amongst each other for drugs and money.

It saddens me in a way because alot of people believed in "fighting for the cause" without resorting to violence but now it's all just a sham. Its got to the point where I know a guy who got shot in his own house in front of his kids and wife by guys who were supposedly on his side for the simple reason that he didn't want them getting into all that shit.
