Actually, if people wanted, it would be really easy to stop you from posting.

Don't give yourself too much credit. You don't irritate me. McRock irritates me, Adrian irritates me, but you don't even come close. Might be the fact that for the most part, your posts are written like an 6-year olds and you really can't blame a 6-year old for trying to type.

i am really not bothered about what you say about me however i do in someway respect all of you and your opinions
Like I said above, it's common courtesy to type legible text. If you _choose_ not to, it's disrespectful.

Just my 2 cents: When posting on message boards, I always try to get the spelling completely right and sometimes even proofread before submitting. When on ICQ or the likes, I usually don't use capital letters at all, and probably won't correct minor typos (allright or alright and stuff like that) - and am fine with that.

There's the spelling AND the editing that show how much you respect other posters/readers and the effort you put in to get your opinion through.

I must say bad editing (ie 50 lines in one block) will irritate me more than bad spelling, and I won't bother reading.

I'll admit that I take a lot of time, and often edit several times the post in which I really want to get something through, from a joke to a serious opinion on an issue I care very much about, from irony to sarcasm. I take even more time as English isn't my first language.

It's actually not to please the reader or show him/her some respect - though I understand it might and that's fine - it's to make sure he/she understands everything I mean and feel so the conversation as a chance to go somewhere.

Bad spelling is not that annoying to me as I think it's the speller's problem if he comes out as a stupid cool wannabe. On the other hand I find it sad that such people don't understand how Language is a beautiful invention and a universal tool, in the exact same way music is, and refuse to use it as such be it on a message board.

You can pack a small sentence with much more sense and emotion with the appropriate words in the adequate position than with the first words and syntax that come to mind.

How nice does playing the guitar with messed up chords and wrong intervals sound? Not only does it sound awful, it doesn't make sense and carries no emotion. It's pointless.
Put it all in order to reflect your state of mind in the best way possible. You'll get some valuable returns and start sharing real meaningful moments.

We don't have capital letters, commas and full stops for nothing and there are reasons why you should spell your words right.

Now that's a bit stereotypical. Not all young adults have spelling or grammar issues due to apathy.

I must admit I have to proof read alot of my posts because I know my spelling is and grammar is awful at times, esp when im typing fast. In fact I find it embarrassing that alot of you guys whose first language isnt even English, spell better than me (and others around here too )

Beautiful description! And it does reflect my feelings when it comes to language.
