No it wasn't that one - quite a recent one. I recommend it. I'll dig up the name tommorrow.

The Rats was Herberts 2nd (or 1st book - can't remember if the fog came 1st). Is a very good action chiller horrer, very graphic. I recommend some of his later ones as awesome reads. Haunted is actually quite scary. The dark is very good (a more up to date version of the fog). The Ghosts of Sleath, Others, Once, Sepulcure & there r many more. The set pieces he describes are awesome - without doubt one of my favourite writers.
