Take a look at Clive Barker. He writes Cabal. Then he scripts and
directs Nightbreed (arguably a very Lovecraftian theme).

I used to read all the S. King books, but somehow I think he lost the point. I don`t like hids late work, I think the earlier ones are more special, more excitment and more creative.

I have read Dark Tower series too. But I must admit that I like HP Lovecraft more than King.
