If I remember correctly, the deadliest school shooting happened in Germany, a country with strict gun controls.

(and just to be clear -- I am VERY much against guns and VERY much for gun control)
But how many shooting accidents were there in Germany? I doubt it there were more than in the US.
Yep, seems to me that this happens "all the time" in US.

This is not the place for yet another discussion on the right to keep and bear arms.

Adrian

Tell me, what do you need a gun for?

Such a great thing when absolutely everyone and their dog can get a gun

Such a tragedy

If not then, then when? Sometimes *your* rights are very much in detriment of other, more important rights.

True. But Germany's population is much smaller than that of the US. Hence, statistically speaking, you'd find more of everything in the US.

Apparently, that particular school does have a metal detector in place and a security officer, but the kid got the guns in any way.

Yoy're right about that. But I'm willing to bet that there are more shooting accidents in the US than in the whole of Europe, or in Canada.

I guess that if you'll be able to get the gun in the first place (I take it that it isn't easy to get a gun in Germany, like it is in The Netherlands), you'll also be able to get it into a well secured school.

Or do you think me and the 80 million like me to be psycotics, that the mere presence of an inanimate piece of wood and metal will unleash uncontrollable homicidal tendencies towards my fellow citizens?

Never. My natural right to own effective weapons of self-defense is not negotiable or subject to a majority vote. It'd be like giving up the right to free speech because of libel or because someone was beaten to death with a keyboard. So please, give me a reason why the gun I own is harmful to anyone else.

If you can make one up.

Do you guys really want to go over this again...there's a topic called "who has a gun" that's approximately 4 pages back that contains every argument and response we could possibly use. I can post the link if you would like.

Adrian

I guess that´s fair enough if there´s need to do it with guns. It´s possible without guns here, and many other places. So, why not there?
