Summer is over-rated. It's too damn hot to go out...if your a night worker it's too bloody hot to sleep. You can't go out in the sun because you get skin cancer, and there are way too many people showing way too much white flesh. I'm all for showing off if you look good...but some people really should invest in a mirror before they buy a new swimsuit.

I can now start to get a good days sleep, and can wear my leather jacket without sweating my nuts off.

Treadmill or membership to the local gym.

See, it is possible to have a nice summer. :P

So instead of burning and getting skin cancer, you spend 20 minutes making yourself all greasy and slippery (hold on...starting to sound good after all!)

Fair points.

Again very true...although I wasn't in fact talking about myself (although a few hours in the gym wouldn't hurt! - well, they would hurt...you get my point!)

Problem is for most of the high-street-whales exercise involves lifting 67 gold-plated earings into place...!!!!!

I knew air conditioning was hard to come by but pools too!!! They are expensive here but not impossible.

No wonder why you like the Autumn better.

It's not the pool itself that is expense...rather the land to put it in! Anywhere with a garden big enough in central London will set you back at least £400,000 ($600,000+). Out in the sticks I'm sure you could get a garden big enough for a lot less...but who wants to live in the outback!!!

It's ridiculous....I'm sure that it's the same in Manhatten for example...but London is so much bigger. Years ago, the outer areas of London were affordable...but now it's just nuts. I bought my flat 3 years ago...if I wanted to buy it now, I couldnt afford it!!

In the area of London I am (4 miles from the West End...but still in zone 2, and a 1 bedroom flat with no garden will set you back about £180,000. Mine has a little garden (and parking....whoa...) but the garden will just about get a bucket of water in it...let alone a pool!!!!

Spring is here and so are the footy finals!!

But so are those damn swooping magpies! I don't know how many times I've turned around to see their beaks coming straight for my face. Little bastards are the only bad thing about Spring.
