If I were in that situation, I would seriously question the sanity of my parents for having a child in such circumstances.
I can honestly say that I don't care about all of the people starving and dying. You cannot say "What if you were in that situation?" the point is that I am not.

...So...Sort of an 'I'm all right Jack' attitude....Nice!

Some situations are like the man who built his house on the sand. I think people who contract diseases, such as AIDS, and it is their own fault, they don't deserve any help.

I'm not convinced u fully understand this epidemic in Africa / other 3rd world countries.........Yeah - they can just pop into the local pub & buy some condoms out of their loose change... Sanitation has never been better.....

Well...u spend so much money solving all the worlds other 'problems'. [/unquote]
Yeah.. and that's what should stop. If it were up to me we'd be selfish like most of the rest of the world and only worry about ourselves. icon_rolleyes.gif [/unquote]
Selfish like the rest of the world??? 3/4 of oil consumption...... No I won't go into this, however u r no less selfish than the next country (including mine).

I was mostly talking about on an individual basis. When I was in elementary school, twice a year our teachers gave us boxes to fill with money to send to some African country. Why? There ARE people in Zimbabwe (or any other country) who are much richer than I am. You don't see them sending money to people in the US who need it.

I take it u were living out of a cardboard box at that point then, with no access to running water, food, sanitation.......
Generally the 'richer' ppl in these countries r part of the problem, who wouldn't even give money to the starving; let alone some guy living in a developed country with all the opportunities they'll never have.
