Default Sven England football manager

Anyone shocked Sven is leaving after world cup ? Wish the press would just leave him alone ... they dont seem to have any real proof about anything....

It does sound like Sven was looking for other job options etc... so what is it that big a deal.....its not like it hasnt happened before a hundred times, its just very annoying the press have picked on him just before the world cup.

We all were aware that terry Venebales was going to leave after Euro 1996 and we got to the semi-finals. Sven says he is commited and I truely believe him. He comes out and says some REALLY stupid things at times, but no-on can question has ability to do the job. He got us to the finals after a tough spell, and he is the man who could take us all the way. If England win the world cup this summer, he will g down in folklore, yet if we don't do so well, he will go down as a waste of time. There is a thin line between success and failure....especially in this country.

Well im glad he'll be gone after the finals, however we do. No point in replacing him now so soon to the world cup. I just hope we get an ENGLISH manager to replace him, there are plenty of good ones about.

That remembers me a lot about all that was being said about Aimé Jacquet (the French squad coach from 1994 to 199 in the build up to the 1998 WC victory. His decisions brought controversy (ie. leaving out King Eric and Ginola out), but the man was building a team and not just summing up the stars.

The team's preparation games were awful, critics getting personal on him etc... with the end result that we know and everyone begging him to stay.

That's all I wish for England.

sven should go now i hope the news of the world has a big load of crap to dump on him this sunday that pushes the issue over the edge.
imagine we get to the semi or even final and sven sends out instructions to the pitch ? why the hell should they listen to him ? he cant drop them next time.
what if like against portugal we are totally dominating a game of football and we lose say rooney again . he will just sit there like he always does . thinking thinking thinking and never bloody doing anything.

northern ireland perfect example do you really think that someone like sam allerdyce would have let that discgrace go on for another 45 mins??? i dont think so alex ferguson no way.

i dont think sven is a bad manager its just when the shit hits the fan he cant make his mind up what to do.
i dont wanna see england crash out again becuase the bloody manager is indecisive and weak.
i say he should go now.

He's a farce and always has been. He doesn't really care how he does, he just wants to pick up the next big cheque.

the thign about sven is....

he's a good manager but i reckon you could stick stevie wonder intot he job and you'd still do ok because you have an absolutely fantastic team.

john terry, rio, wright phillips, joe cole, lampard, beckham, gerrard, rooney, owen.... it reads like a chelsea wish list

my problem is that with a team like that, you should be running the show and really be inw ith a shout of winning the world cup but i dont think you are on account of not playing as well as a unit as you should be anad alot of that has to do with the manager.

Then he is a bad manager. Anyone can be good when the team is playing well, but finding out out exactly how good they are is best done when they are faced with adversity. If a manager can't 'manage' a bad situation, then he's missing a major part of what his job is all about.
