I think that it was wrong for the government to intervene, she should have been allowed to die peacefully, and now obviously she has, but since I'm guessing you never met her how can you honestl be sad?

Going to have to half agree with Neil here. It's a shitty situation all round and absolutely diabolical that it's been and willc ontinue to be used as a political tool but in all fairness, plenty of people die every day in worse circumstance and I don't get worked up about that so I'm not going to about this.

I'm sad because I've been following her story and can/could basically understand her parents' point of view.
I also understand what you are saying Jim, I know there are lots of people who die in worse situations everyday but unfortunately we don't know them. I don't think starving someone to death is a pleasant way to die and I don't like the way they handled her case. There are many things which we may never know. Now they are talking of doing an autopsy. What it really annoys me is that apparently her mother was not allowed to see her in her final moments...

I feel sad in the same way when I see how many people are dying in South Africa and other places, and so on...anyway, that's how I feel, not everyone has to feel the same way.

I never get the you-can't-feel-sad-unless-you-know-them attitude. Maybe it's not the same sort of sadness you feel when a close family member dies but its' sadness all the same.

I also feel sad but it's a relief to see her struggle has finally come to an end. She could have certainly died a better, quieter death, and the government should have never ever got involved - but that's quite another matter.

Incidentally though she has died on the same day Charlotte Brontë died 150 years ago.

Not being overly empathetic is just a thign some people do.

My next door neighbour died a coupla weeks ago. i barely knew her, i feel sorry for her daughter but that's about it. She was a very sick woman and her passing is in a small way, a blessing in disguise.

exact same thing here. same thing with my gran when she goes.

I'd rather just say fair enough it's not very nice but in the end, i'm not going to lose any sleep over it.

I think the whole case around Terry was sad, so I do understand why other people are sad over her death. May she rest in peace.

I think she died in a horrible horrible way. I wish her parents had won the court case to keep her feeding tube in and she had died in a more peaceful way.
