lol It's not like I can afford myself one of those ! I would use it for more than just web-browsing though... A 1024 x 768 screen is just too small for designing and stuff... But a Cinema 30 inch... one may dream

I do agree. One of my best friends is n architect and he always uses huge monitors for designing n stuff. It looks fabulous. I dont think a 30" would even fit in my tiny tiny tiny room LOL.

Btw, do you still have your USA vacation pictures online? Care to share the link, if they are? Oh, and which BJ shows are you going to next year?

they're on www.sarawinter.com (photoalbum, it's the album on the bottom), I actually just uploaded them again a week ago or so. It's all western USA though, I read you're going to the east? Pretty cool !

I'm just going to the concert in Nijmegen. I've been thinking about going to maybe another one (Dusseldorf or London)... But I'm in the middle of my internship by then and I've got no idea how much time I would have left. I'd love to meet some (new) ppl from JT, but I'm not that big of a BJ fan anymore to sacrifice my studies / work for a couple of shows (much to the contrary 2.5 years ago lol).

Kev, you do know that a TFT screen is fixed to one resolution? It can't change it's resolution like a CRT-monitor can. If you use a smaller resolution, say 800x600 on your TFT screen, it will have resample the image and depending on the monitor, the image will be either horrible or watchable. If you only use Windows etc, and not games, TFT is great. For games, it either requires a very fast computer to be able to run the games at the TFTs resolution or you'll have to settle for a crappy image.

Never, ever buy a TFT without seeing one in action first. You might be surprised. There are a lot of differences between them.

I have a 17 inch TFT (1280x1024) and I like it better than CRT, but sometimes games look horrible.

I just got a new monitor recently. I was gonna get a 19" TFT but they were twice as expensive as a CRT so I ended up with another CRT. The definition on it is far better than any TFT monitor I have seen, and my graphics/video card is hardly top end (GeForce 3). 19" is nice and big which means you can use high resolutions without needing to squint to read whats on the screen. If you have the desk space then I'd get a Hyundai CRT 19" for around £85.

Holy crap! Your newly designed website looks fantastic. Love the background music as well. Nah the layout is fantastic. I wish I could produce something like that. Very user friendly. I love it! The pictures too...Terrific! Thanks for sharing Sara

Yeah im just going to the east Coast. Thats enough for my first visit. Obviously I would love to go all over America, but money wont allow such trips. Have you been to the East side yourself?

Yeah you should definately go to Dusseldorf or London, if you can get time away from your studies. I would definately like to meet up with ya if you did.

But I still should be able to have 1280x1024 resolution on a 19" TFT right? I do wanna see one in action before I buy to be honest...not always possible though really. I guess, if im not completely satisfied with it, I can send it back if necessary.

I've been to NY for a week in 2000 with a friend of mine and her parents. That was pretty cool, but I liked some cities on the west coast better (San Francisco, Seattle). NY is cool though!

Well, yeah, but all the pixels will be larger than the actual pixel on the screen, thus they will look "soft". TFT will only work really well on the resolution it's made for. When you go to the shop and test one, remember to try different resolutions to see how they work.
