Dawn, i know what your saying that yeah they are filming it in summer and stuff does melt but what their saying is it never used to be this bad . large chunks of ice are going and melting raising the sea level.Where you live now will be under water in the next 50- 100 years so thats why we got to do something now before its too late .
Like Jim said we are all responsible and we all have to make that effort to recycle as much as we can . to use energy as efficiently as possible and just do our bit . If people carry on being ignorant then we're not going to have much of a world to live in soon. I for one find it very scarry .

We plough billions into prolonging life through disease prevention, healthy living campaigns and all these wonder-drugs which means we are all around longer. Population is increasing exponentially and yet we are insistant on reducing the land area of this planet through global warming because we are too ignorant and lazy to put any effort into thinking about what we can do to try and prevent the inevitable.

For a species which is supposed to be the most intelligent on the planet, it's amazing how f**king dumb some of us can be!!!

I am Russ, my desk is next to the wall with the chimney behind and it has a small vent in here (where the old fireplace used to be) so I've got it right next to me right now! I went outside earlier and couldn't believe how windy it was, I'm suprised there aren't any trees down around here.

As for the global warming thing, well of course it is happening after 200 years of industry, pumping everything out of chimneys into the air and dumping stuff in the water, but what annoys me is when I'm told not to use as much water in the kettle, turn lights off, recycle etc (which I do) but then I see large office buildings that leave their computers on and lights on overnight, who is wasting energy the most there?!

Wind related: a tree just blew down in our town centre, which is now being evacuated apparently

I remember being a kid at school and out in the playground at break when it was windy and we'd hold our coats out to catch the wind, blow us backwards along the playground :P Weather is definitely getting worse though, more extreme.

... Dawn I saw the report last night...and was disapointed too...It blows credibility away when they try to dramatise things!...When in reality the whole global warming thing is dramatic enough.

On a windy note, trees are down all over the place here and thurdays being wheelie bin day/ cardboard and paper recycling sacks, they're all over the place!....but what I noticed first this morning as I battled to get to the car, was how warm the wind was! We've only had one frost so far this winter!
