Hurricanes are becoming more frequent and more intensive (such as Katrina) precisely because of Global Warming, so because of his policies he is very responsible for the destruction that took place due to Katrina and we all know how well he dealt with the aftermath of that.

[QUOTE=
Did you know that in order for the American way of life to be sustainable, we would actually need the resources of three earths? That is disgusting by any stretch of the imagination but we're all supposed to 'just accept it'? Two-fingers to you Mr Bush!!
[/QUOTE]

America seems to be holding itself together better than most countries.

And what you are saying is, ironically, making a great case for GM foods and the innovations that America often leads.

Another tidbit fed to you by the "pro-man made global warming media". Scientists do not believe hurricanes are more intense, only that they are better at measuring them now then they were 50 years ago. The list of scientists is quite long. See the United Nations Environment Programme of the World Meteorological Organization and The National Hurricane Center, to name a few. You will have a hard time finding any respected meteorologist who believes man made global warming = stronger and more frequent hurricanes.

Does it really matter who or what causes global warming? The fact is that it is happening and if we don't do something about it we're ****ed.

If man is not causing global warming, what makes you think man can stop it?

I don't know that we can, but we should try. We have to live on this planet, we take everything from it, using up it's resources and pretty soon they'll be all gone. Figures keep being thrown around, saying we have enough coal, oil and gas to last another 40-50 years, what happens then. Many of us will likely still be around when they happens, if we don't needlessly destroy ourselves with atomic weapons first , so we need to do something. I don't understand when people refuse to do such a simple thing as recycle some paper or plastic or glass, when every little helps. According to a recycling advert on TV here if you recycle 1 single metal can, the energy saved (recycling vs making a new one from scratch) can run a light in a house for 4 hours, or a tv or a pc for about 20-30 minutes, let alone saving a natural resource. If more people recycled it would make a big difference I think, but still more needs to be done. More renewable energy sources, more eco-friendly products, and a big one is more eco-friendly cars.

..I agree...We don't know that we can stop global warming, we don't know how much is the worlds natural cycle and how much is caused by humans.

Figures do show that the increase has never been so fast before and this is being atributed to humans.

America is one of the biggest for toxic emissions (but are trying to do something about it) but India and China are quickly catching up and are not very interested.

We should all try to do something even if it's to learn more about it, tell friends and spread the word. Ignorance is not going to be of any use in 50yrs.

Just heard Prince Charles has cancelled his skiing trip...something about his "Carbon Footprint"...I think it's a global warming awareness thing!

I went to an enviromently meeting last year hoasted by an expert on the enviroment .It was mainly to do with running your business in a more enviromently friendly way . At some point i did ask him if the world would change its enviroment naturaly as it has done through out history ie The ice age . He admitted it would but the fact is since the industrial age its changed far quicker than ever. However if we chance our ways now we might have a chance .

"There can be no question that the increase in greenhouses gases are dominated by human activity," said Dr. Susan Solomon, a U.S. government scientist who is a lead researcher on the panel of scientists and other representatives from 113 countries.

Because of the report, said Achim Steiner, executive director of the United Nations Environmental Program, today "will perhaps one day be remembered as the day when the question mark was removed from the question of whether human activity has anything to do with climate change on this planet…Those who have doubts can no longer now ignore the evidence."

Yet you can still be sure that there will be plenty of individuals out there who will still refuse to accept the truth.
