Prince Charles is a **** isn't much of an argument if u ask me.

anyways we should keep the important ones like the Queen, the Princes but get rid of the useless ones like 976th in line to the throne Lord Palmer Tompkinson and all that pish.

Prior to common opi9nion, the Monarchy do pay money back in the form of tax but its not exacvtly the same as us opening a wage packet and seeing how much mr Blair has ripped us off of this month and lets face it. what else is going to bring people to the country apart from the monarchy?

not much i tells ye

Don't Holland have a monarchy?
Yes, Holland does, but it is so much more different than the English one. All the Princes have normal jobs (one works in the UK). The degrees they got they actually studied for them and they pay taxes like all normal citizens. Of course they are wealthy but there isn't the awe there is around the English monarchy. Big difference.

Thats why we should keep our monachy as it is. They dont really appeal to me, but they bring in our country lots of income because of the history.

History is one thing, you can't get rid of that, but thinking they are better than the rest or larger than life is different. They are just people who are extremely privileged.

I think thats changing though. Although I wasnt Princess Dinans biggest fan, the one thing she has done is brought up two down to earth sons, who are doing normal things like going to uni, having a year out to travel etc

you're actually right there, jim. but still - they could do with a little less money :P

i mean... once a year the queen does a speech the prime minister writes for her and for that she's getting millions. not a bad deal

I voted keep them but its unlikely they will survive the next centuary if europe unites. Keep them for just pure comody value for instance the main headline on the sun today (ignoring the train crash and all that from yesterday) was that the queens corgi had been killed by princess anns dog...........and?
