I understand what the rules are, but I just choose not to sit back and follow them blindly like you do, which you seem to do just to keep you mod position. I just think the rules suck, and I can't act normally here anymore.
Its a message board Neil, therefore these rules apply. What you post can be seen by anybody on the net. Talking to your mates or whatever then thats a different matter and you can act "normally" as you put it. What will you do if you have to go for a job or college interview?? Face it, swearing isnt always appropriate, they may only be "words" to you but they're considered offensive by some people. Its not Jovitalks rules, its called life, it can be applied to your argument about pictures of naked women too.

In all fairness, ****ing and s***** are pretty much the 2 most natural things anyone will ever do.

BUT and this is comign from someone who's language is absolutely attrocious.

there is a time and a place and even though I'm not the most eloquent of folk here, I still swear alot less than what I do in real life.

It's almost an innate ability because I've done it for so long and I'm forever getting hassled off Ashlea for it but 1 thing I will say which she pointed out:

I don't do it in front of her parents nearly as much as I do in front of mine, I don't do it at all in front of her extended family etc.... so it can be controlled and it should be.

I might not find pissing off the top of a building offensive but I'm pretty sure the people it lands on will. look at it that way.

Normally, I have the foul mouth of a truck driver. I don't swear in front of my mom, because I know she doesn't like it. Neil, it is called being considerate.

I am probably the most circumspect in my language here on this board. I do sound like a truck driver in real life - but as Mouse said - not around my Mother. It distresses her so I don't do it. On the other hand - I spend less time with her than I might because I cannot talk with her the same way I talk to other people.
I have to say though - at Christmas I tried to post a Hyde Park clip that was shown on the Dick Clark show here on New Years eve. I had to get aroung the spelling of the poor mans first name like this D i c k
I do consider this unnessesarily stupid.

Kathleen

Its as simple as that. If you do not like the rules, and disagree with three Main Moderators like Myself, Mike and Mouse, then contact Peter and let us know what he has to say about all this. Peters message board. Not Thomas Andersons.

Im the main mod here, everyone knows that

I think you're a carbon copy of me there Mouse - I never swear in front of my family, but I've been told I have the mouth of a truck driver by friends many a time - and I certainly can't post my response to those comments here

As for swearing here, it's not only a consideration of other posters - as far as I am concerned there is no place for swearing in written English. IMO it just cheapens your message and makes you look like you can't think of an intelligent way of explaining yourself.

Back to the original post I agree. To quote Kathleen:

That is stupid, and this comes from a woman who's husband is called Richard! I've seen much worse uncensored words on this board, maybe the parameters need changing
