As a Moderator I would expect you to have a much better argumentative style
Well, im very sorry 'Mr Im At Oxford University' if we havent all got the amazing 'argumentative style' which you have. I know im not as bright as you, but I have nothing against you personally, I hope you know and understand that, but this attack is clearly uncalled for. Im simply doing my job here and asking a fellow moderator not to swear. I didnt think I was making such a big deal out of this.

No it doesn't... is Tony Blair "above" you or I, or was Hitler "above" the average German citizen - I'm not sure you know how to use "above" contextually at all.
Yes he is, of course he is. He runs this country, what he says, goes in this country. How can he be equal to us? Just like Peter is above me, Laura, Mike, Mouse etc on Jovitalk. He Runs the message board. I didnt say I was above the 'average user' in life, I am on about on jovitalk. If you find that hard to deal with, then tough, thats my opinion. Live with it.

You don't need to set an example, you are all human beings too... with varying age differences, geography, education etc etc - there's nothing about "setting an example" - your job is to moderate, not to educate!
When did i ever try to educate anyone. ALL I said, was a mdoerator shouldnt be swearing. Goose for example swears a lot, however as mentioned in the mod forum, we all know how to take him and thats different, He doesnt go around slagging people off and calling them names etc. Yes my job it to moderate, Just like Mouse's when she edited Neils origional post, I was about to do the same. Age difference here, should not matter to any poster, same with geography and education, if they chose to swesr, then expect it to be edited by a mod. Everyone signed up to this community is supposed to be over 13 years old, and they should know by that age that swearing is not acceptable in any situation what-so-ever. I bet they wouldnt swear infront of family, so there is no need to bring it over here.

Since when did Kev start laying down the rules for other mods...?
Im not laying thr rules down for any other mod. Like everyone else in the last two days, im simply giving my opinion.

I don't think anyone here is taking the mods as role-models or anything, so I don't see why thye should have stricter rules than the rest of us mortals :P If people can swear or find ways round to swearing I think they're entitled to do it too. I don't think they shouldn't be doing it because they're mods. If anything, they shouldn't be doing it because it's a public message board. But as I said before I don't have a problem with people swearing, even if I don't do it.

Also, I wouldn't say mods are "above" us. I'd say that, in any case, they're in a different place. Not better, not worse (well, sometimes I really wouldn't like to be on their shoes :P ), just different, with different "benefits".

So I really don't think any discussion should be separated into what mods can do and what the rest of us can do. That's no good for any of us.
