I had exactly the same virus, it started happening monday night and it took me 2 days to sort it. I tried d/l the update from microsoft, but it wouldnt let me becoz my windows product key wasnt legit. So I then had to try and d/l a product key hacker, then re register it, then download the patch.

And with your computer restarting itself every 2 minutes, you can imagine how annoying it was.

Damn scrotum virus writing gimps.

I lost my Championship Manager 4 season ggrrrrrrrrrr

No, actually Norton is better, but you should stop using pirated software and keep your virus programs updated. There are new viruses programmed every week, so you should update your virus defenitions AT LEAST once a month.

EDIT: Oh, and you can get it from being on the Internet, if you're not updated.

Here's a patch you need to fix your system:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/tre...n/MS03-026.asp

And download disinfection info from:

I'd like to say a fervent thank you for posting these links. My MacAfee caught and deleted the virus but it had already installed itself in the registry. I had no way to copy and paste and links did not work at all. I have microsoft update automatically - usually - but I am away and only have a modem so I temorarily disabled the updater. I was able to type in your link and get the patch - which I really appreciate. Once the virus was deleted from the registry (which microsoft gave directions for) I was able to install the patch and I got all my links back.
Thanks again - this is not how I expected to spend my vacation!

Thanksfully I havent seen anything of the killer-worm yet, But I downloaded the patch everyone is talking about - the one Microsoft provided for us all, and also install ZoneAlarmPro Firewall, my mate who knows loads about computers and technical stuff like this recommended this to me. Does anyone else use this? Is it as good as what my mate says it is? I just dont wanna lose all my mp3's

Yeah, it's okay, but unless you paid for the Pro version, it's pirated. Zone Alarm offers a free version of their firewall as well.

Anyway, it's easy to use and does what it's supposed to, but don't forget Anti-Virus software.
