Default The Lord Of The Rings

Anyway, lets use this topic to discuss The Lord Of The Rings. Post opinions, photos, and animations (well, that'll probably be just me, lol). I know there are some fans on here, so get discussing, lol.

I just finished reading The Fellowship Of The Ring, and am going to start The Two Towers tonight. I want to see Return Of the King before I read it though, because I know that I would probably be dissapointed otherwise.

The first book is much better than the movie, which is usually true of novel/movie tie ins. I suppose Peter Jackson did the best he could to squeeze so much into 3/3 1/2 hours, but I think he could have made six 3 hour films, and staid more true to the story.

I've heard about the ending of Return Of The Kind though, and it sounds crap, lol.

I can't wait to see it though.

I've red the books three years ago and it was magic. and didn't find the magic in the first movie. I'd eventually get out of the theater! didn't see the second, but don't really mind... read the book, don't watch the movies

I want to watch Return Of The King before I see it, otherwise the movie will dissapoint me.

For someone who hasn't read them, the movies are still fantastic. They will be remember like Star Wars or the James Bond series, a sort of classic status.

Anyway, here's some gifs;

Balrog

Legolas

Middle Earth

One Ring

Feel free to use those gifs (except the last one - it's my avatar) in your signatures. You will have to save them to your own webspace first though.

Anyway, let's try and turn this into a good topic;

Who is you favourite Lord Of The Rings character and why?

Mine is probably Gimli. John Rhys Davies is a good actor, and some of the things he says and does are very funny;

(speaking to Aragorn) "Toss me...but don't tell the elf"

When he can't see over the battlements of the wall of Helms Deep, and Legolas asks him if he wants a box to stand on, lol.

Or When he shouts to Legolas "I've got 2 already", to which Legolas replies "I'm on 18".

ROFLMAO

I also think that Aragorn and Sam are good, becuase they didn't succumb to the power of the ring, like Boromir did.

Gimli is my favourite, too. I just love this little dwarf
He is soo funny, especially in the two towers

But I also like Aragorn ....mostly for his looks, but his character isn't bad either
