Just for argument's sake - why would they lie about this though? I'm not saying I do or don't believe, in all honesty, I have never considered the possibility that it could be not true. But what would the Powers that be have to gain, the space thing is still going strong and it would take a hell of a lot of people to keep in the conspiracy.

erm, have you even ever heard of the cold war??????????????????????????????????????????????? ????????

Jesus Christ, some people are Uber uninformed about world issues

obviously now landing on the moon etc is real, noone doubts that (or if they do then they are very silly) what is a MAJOR doubt is that the first landing was real.
I cant be bothered to explain the cold war to you, if you dont know what the first country to land on the moon had to gain, then I hope to god you dont have a job involves the use of your brain!!!!!

sorry to be a bit harsh Tash, but I cant believe what Im reading :E

I did say for argument's sake, Goose!! I didn't say one way or the other that I agree with anything that has been said. It is called being the Devil's advocate.

And no, you weren't harsh!!

Give me a telescope with that I can see the flag and I'll believe it.

Btw the space station wasn't and the new one isn't as far away as it's necessary to do a moonlanding. Also there's a little difference between keeping a route around the earth and landing on a moon. It isn't that long ago when they lost 2 mars probes because of some calculation mistake "by accident". So if they make such mistakes a few decades later how should they ever have been able to get people up there and even back? I guess that's teh more interesting thing: How did they come back?
OK i aint got a picture of it but i will look into it when i get board. The simple fact is that the flag should be seen if its there as it was planted on the light side of the moon. Im pretty certain it did happen through you can pick faults with almost anything if you want to.
you're going to need a pretty dang expensive telescope :P

At the time it was important in the cold war... I don't know much about it, but I was told it was something to do with if you could get a man on the moon, you could get missiles on there and it would give whichever country got their a huge advantage in terms of a potensial war...

They kept the secret because of the coldwar, to keep some sort of advantage over Russia, they keep it secret now because it would be a huge embarasement.

I'm guessing it woudln't actually take that many people to keep it secret.... A lot of the people involved suffered strange premeture deaths at the time, and most people would probably be involved without knowing.

Because the calculations involved the probes going to Mars.... & before they involved going to the moon?? Which is slightly nearer & hence less uncertainty

Coming back would be easier because there is less gravity on the moon.... So don't need all those boosters etc....

Aside from that - who cares??
Sure, the moon is nearer (and much smaller :P ) but they had less technics and got it the first time if it's no fake. But for Mars they needed 2 attempts and didn't get one damn probe to the planet. They said that they did the same mistake 2 times. So if they are too stupid to learn from this mistake how could that all have worked that well at the moon landing? It is too perfect, too perfect to be real. And especially not in that time.

Ok, the gravity is about 6 times less than on earth but imagine you are a few guys alone with your shuttle on the moon, some communication but the signal takes a while because of the distance. Though you walk along the moon, keep your nerves all the time, get back to the shuttle and fly home. Usually my phantasy is enough to imagine almost every sh!t but that is really ironical.

BTW as long as I don't have anything better to do I care :P

Oy vey.
It was only a matter of time until this board honestly took this conversation up. It's only natural. The perfect lot of people to doubt it.
I'm off to search for black helicopters and Elvis now.
Evil American government.

a) do you deny the facts? explain them
b) many many American scientists have helped in the investigation into the 'landing'
