the most disasterous week of my life...

this week i are mostly been....

okay number one:

wednesday- went to the hospital for my results where they told me basically " you dont have cancer, however theres an 80-90% chance you'll probably get it, you have several benign growths in your bowels, two of which are potentially dangerous, and we dont know why you have them, so were going to send you to genetics for that.... also it still doesnt explain your symptoms so you can go for a barium meal and a gastroscopy as well (neither of these are nice- id rather die than have anyone go near my throat with a length of tubing! oh, and being turned radioactive? no thank you!)

so yeah that was a fun day, oh yeah and then them having told me that after standing outside the room i was sat in discussing me for half an hour(!) they send me for some more blood tesats so i go and q for 4 hours.... thinking about what theyve said....

needless to say i didnt get any revision done on wednesday.
thursday i did some work, went to bed and got up at 5am on friday as i had an exam that afternoon.... went to the exam... did better than last time i did it (it was a retake) however, i still dont think i did enough to pass it which means ive also managed to flunk out of uni....

why did i fail it before?? i missed a chunk of uni through being ill with the stuff the hospital are trying to diagnose...



oh yeah, and then yesterday on top of feeling completely and utterly stupid with the exam stuff my mum gave me a big himt that i have to move out in september....

it just gets better and better,
and if anyone has had a week to top mine, then i give you my sympathy!!!!

Sara ... sound like the last couple of days have been terrible ! I feel for you ... Your mum wants you to move out?? Why?

If i were you i'd up and leave and think sod it, they dont know whats wrong with me, why am i wasting time waiting to know when i can be doing something much better with my life! I'd probably just get a flight somewhere and either go travelling or take a holiday!

they wanted me to move out last year but i couldnt cause my student loan didnt come through in time. this year i still have no money till my loan comes through, but they get less money now and would give me all sorts of excuses, and it would be easier to move out.. i just see how im going to do it until i have a job that'll pay in the region of 100 quid a week after tax...

jess: i like the idea less than a colonoscopy and ive already had one of those.... however i dont have a proper complex about sticking things up your arse - its not something id ever thought about before (sorry to be so vulgar...) if they do it theyre gonna have to knock me out to do it (whih they say they wont) cause i have a proper irrational fear of swallowing tablets, and i /know/ i wouldnt cope with tubing... plus i hate hospitals, but id rather they found out what was wrong


yvonne: if i had the money i would have gone on wednesday- i dont care where, but i prolly wouldnt have come back... unfortunately at the moment i dont have the resources to, even if i had friends places to stay at once gone....
however, i have to wait for my exam result and find out whether or not ive proper been kicked out of uni- if so then i think i may get a job for a bit work ridiculous hours and flee the country and go an build my log cabin in the rockies....

however in the real world...

Sara, Sorry to hear about your bad luck

hey girl! lightning sometimes does strike twice- but you'll make it i'm sure!! to your gastroscopy: i know it's not a comfortable thought that someone puts a tube down to your stomach- but when you're about to swallow it, close your eyes and think of sitting at a dinner table and imagine that you have to swallow a big bite- i'm serious- i asked a medicine student who's only got 2 exams left what to do at a gastroscopy the barium thing is not really bad- you won't be affected by that in any way...

your family should be important to you at this time- forget their irrational behavoiur at this time-it's normal for people facing bad news to just stick their heads in the sand, i would advise you to take a year out with the blessing of your university and gain enough strenght of character and faith to hopefully recover 100 % from your illness. keep close to your family

I know how it is. I've had to have a barium swallow, before. I didn't turn radioactive or anything, but it tasted pretty bad. But I pulled through it. And I was 12 or 13 then, so I bet since your older, you'll get through it.
