roflmao.

I thought it strange indeed, though the accent was the strangest thing about it really.

LOL.

I'd bet if you'd just used it without her telling you it was "haunted" you wouldn't have felt anything different.

Nothing weird has happened to me that I can remember.

Have had two weird experiences that stuck in my thoughts.

[1] one of those your mother told you not to and this is why ones

The first was when I was about 13 or 14...myself and a few friends thought we'd have a go at mucking about with a seance [?sp ]. It was about 1pm. or thereabouts and we made the letters/no.s from scraps of paper, laid them around the edge of a table that was smack in the centre of one of the girls bedrooms. None of us really thought it would work or even believed in any of that stuff, but being young impressionables, we had to have a go. So, there we were, four of us sitting at the table with a couple of candles burning and the mandatory glass turned upside down on the table with our index fingers on it. Each of us asked a question, waiting for something to happen...a few moments passed and then one of the girls asked for a 'sign'...the glass started moving from one letter to another and started spelling an obscenity...at this point we were all looking at one another thinking 'cut it out...what a crock of sh!t' We all thought the other was deliberately making the glass move....although later, we all admitted we were getting a wee bit alarmed as the word was being spelled out. Just as the last letter was 'spelt', there was the feeling of a rush of air [we were sitting in the dark - no light apart from 2 small candles, door closed...no air movement other than us breathing], the candles flickered, then went out and all the bits of scrap paper and glass went whizzing off the table. I'm not sure who climbed over whose head first, but we hightailed it out of there at the speed of light. Bravado meant that initially we all made with the laugh and 'I wasn't scared' bit, but we all knew that even if one of us had been guilty of moving the glass, none of us had caused the candles to go out etc. It gave me the heebygeebies and I never ever tried it again.

[2] Strange and very unsettling
I am not superstitious at all - not worried about walking under a ladder [cause I check before I do], not freaked out by the no. 13 [my house no is 13] etc.
Several years ago, my husband and I were visiting relatives in Singapore whilst on a Singapore/Hongkong tour. Before we left Singapore for HK, one of hubby's aunts gave me a beautiful jade heart necklace. I packed it away in my suitcase and there it stayed until we arrived back in Australia about 7 days later. We had driven from Adelaide to Sydney and left the car at the airport, so another couple of days of travelling and then back home. The day after we arrived back here, we went out for lunch with my parents to celebrate hubby's birthday - I decided to wear the jade necklace. We parked our car in one of the city car parks [on the 5th. level]...we were just about to walk out onto the footpath to walk down to the hotel we were going to for lunch, when I cupped my hand below where the necklace was just as the heart fell into my hand. I didn't feel something wrong with it or anything and do not know why my hand moved there just as it fell. We all commented on how weird that was - the heart had snapped clean off the little clasp that was threaded through the chain - weirder still, while the heart had been a beautiful deep jade colour, what I was holding in the palm of my hand was this sickly looking very pale green heart. Superstition apparently says that if you own any jade and it changes colour from bright to pale, ditch it as it means bad luck. I just put it in the pocket of my skirt and thought nothing more of it.
The next morning, at 5am., we were woken by someone banging on the back door of our unit. My brother was standing there looking very upset, and went on to tell us that a very close family friend had been killed the day before in a horrific car accident - time of the accident....same time as the jade heart fell off the chain and into my hand. Needless to say, superstitious or not, the necklace bit the bullet completely and I've never worn or owned any jade since.

Ibeg to differ. I didn't walk in there expecting anything and probably more averse to not feeling anything being so sceptical. There's a reason why no one went into that room and as I said, the guy i know described the exact same thing happening to him in Abbey Road.

As for my brother the intrepid interviewer. Just shows how small a world it is eh?

I was at the grocery store either a year or two years ago, and I'm bagging groceries, and I hear someone (a woman) behind me say "hey." I ignored it, figuring they were talkign to someone else. They said "hey" again, and I figured one of the checkers was talking to me, they occasionally do that while ringing up my mom's purchases. I said "yes" without looking up, and the person said "you lost someone." That's it. This was either early fall after my grandfather had died, or the next summer after. I turned and didn't see anyone there, but there was a woman walking towards the exit that could've been close enough at the time to say it. That's the strangest thing that's ever happened to me.

^^^

there's actually been a scientific study done with regards to stuff like you knowing who's going to phone and they reckon ti happens too frequent for it to be luck or chance and they think it's got somethign to do with us being linked by brainwaves or something since apparently it happened more often with people we have a strong emotional bond with.
