that's true! prices in venice are extremely high!
since you're italian... did you go to the jovi concert in padova ? i did and i really want to find someone who has recorded the concert so he can send it to me. or maybe there's a site or something... do you know?

I think most of you don't understand the seriousness of the situation. Imagine you are living in England and you go out on a saturday night. You go from pub to pub having one or two drinks in each, sitting where you want, and paying no tip. If you are hungry you will have a packet of crisps.

Now, imagine you are living in Canada, and you decide to have a night out. You go in the first bar*, the waitress will probably take you to your seats, and take your order for drinks. She will then present you with a bill at the end. A tip is definitely expected. Supoose that while you are sat at the table you decide that you want to go up to the bar and get your own drinks. When you are at the bar you will be asked where you are sat, who your server is, and you will be told to go and sit back down and your drinks will be brought to you, by your server. Alternatively, imagine you are sitting at your table, and you ask a passing waitress/waitor for some drinks. Simple enough question eh? No, the waitress/waitor will ask you who your server is. You have to keep the same one through the night since his/her performance will be reflected in the tip you give. Most of the time, if you sit at a table, you have to have a server. Going to the bar, buying your drinks, and finding your own table is frowned upon in many places.

*There are absolutely no pubs in Canada. You cannot buy wings/nachos/french fries/pizza etc in bars at any time of the night.

Hi queen , yes I was in Padova (the notorious concert! and I was around the boards 2 years ago when that happened. Senior members will surely remember that hell broke loose to put it mildly lol).

I have a friend who runs a bootleg trading site and I've seen that concert listed in her collection. the url should be (hoping my memory serves me well since I'm not on my home pc at the moment): http://web.tiscali.it/wildontheroad

Good search!

Not so. There are quite a few pubs/lounges/bars in Edmonton that serve food and drinks up until close. (2 am). Your experiences may have been unlike this, but not every bar is the same here, and out west things are possibly different. What is so serious about this situation? It's not like we're a third world, poverty stricken country because we can't get some nachos after 10 pm at the local pub. :P
