What useless things I know??? Almost everything I studied at school (except maths and languages :P) I used to like chemistry but now I don't remeber anything cause redox reactions and ionization energies aren't used in daily life, thankfuly. I always hated physics but I don't name it here, cause I never knew it.
Now, in the Uni, there are still many things I know that no one uses and nobody will use, unless they are in math. investigation. Topology anyone ?

On the other hand, there are many USEFUL things that I don't know. Never knew history very well and it's a shame I think

P.S. Statistics suck :P

And I thought I said that, too.
i didn't quite understand what you meant with regards to the mutual dependency of things. integration to me has given me a basis for work on other subjects but will never be used again. you seem to be thinking of integration in a wider context. do explain....
Yes, I meant how things are connected in this world and maths being *the* language to describe those connections. What I specifically had in my mind were the equations for Newton mechanics and how the one is the derivative of the other and so on, how it is truly logical then to call this mathematical calculation specification a "derivative" etc. This is just a simple example but it helped me to grasp how nature works, at least in my view of the world. Virtually, I probably won't do a more difficult integral or derivative ever again as well.
