I am very excited myself! Mike pre-purchased it for me as part of my birthday gift. I feel the same way that Becky does...I'm excited to see what's going to happen, but afraid of the bad things I'm thinking are going to happen.

Here's a link to the backcover to the UK children's edition. Beware of *minor* spoilers though!!

the Pope's made a statement sayign it;s destroying christian value and promoting evil and witchcraft and that children shouldn;t be readin git.

kinda ironic coming from a guy who leads a billion folk ont he premise of a book full of stories and "miracles"

I'm not looking forward to it as much as I was the last one because i think the last one was crap. hopefully she'll keep away from using every cliche' in the book to show harry as some tortured teenager and just get on with some good story telling.

In my opinion a good book is a good book no matter what label you put on it. I still re-read some books that were favorites of mine when I was a kid. (I love the Black Stallion books ) I registered for the Harry Potter book at my local Barnes and Noble and I will be there early on Saturday.

The Pope may say what he likes of course but you know that the best marketing comes for free So I'm fine with it :P I do wonder whether *he* has read it, which would be funny because he would be contradicting himself. And if he hasn't - which is probably the case - he can't know what he's talking about.

I still don't think the last one was bad. Harry is a teenager and has a lot of things to be mad about and "angsty". What get on my nerves more was the fact that - as Hermione rightly said :P - he's always trying and playing the great hero that saves the day. Oh well.

I've read some spoilers and they're making me ILL. I know JKR doesn't think we're all stupid enough to fall for this. It must be some kind of big set up (and I'm not talking about the big death).

I've seen bits of some of the films but don't really like them, but I've seen this and found it funny

So I'm just wondering, if they plan to keep using Star Wars stories has the big bad guy turned out to be his dad yet?
