Default TO ALL AMERICANS: What did you buy this Black Friday?

I was just introduced to this phenomenon last year when they tried bringing Black Friday (very unsuccessfully) into Canada.

Did y'all fight over yer 6 doller electric back massagers or yer 29 doller internet machines? How many people were injured or killed this year fer yer sales?

In Belfast it was chaos. LCD TV's going for £99 - thats about $140 of American money and about $60,000 Canadian Dollars for you Eric with a K.

Seriously though it was all fat, chavvy waste of space women going mental. They have no manners and are not putting Brits in a good light. Damn plastic Irish

It's in Britishland too? Fun!

I hate it. I really, really hate the idea of Black Friday. Stupid, idiotic consumerist culture we live in. Let's take a day to celebrate how thankful we are by overeating and buying genetically modified Turkies. And then the next day, let's decide that we don't have enough and beat each other up on different sales. I hate it.

... Did I ever mention how much I hate Thanksgiving and Black Friday?

Britain is starting to catch on to the whole Thanksgiving thing too. I dont get it. It annoys me that in England we celebrate other cultures and world events that aren't our own. We celebrate St Patrick's Day (Irish National Day) like mad in England, get drunk and party like there's no tomorrow. Yet on St George's Day (our English national day) it is ignored completely.

Do you Canadians worship the Royal Family or do you think they're a waste of space like we do?

I wouldn't stand outside in the cold for hours or deal with the crowds for front row Bon Jovi tickets much less a cheap TV or a half priced pair of socks. I think it's insanity and that retailers out to be ashamed to promote such madness. Of course the people taking part in it and trampling on others are to blame too.

I only went out for 2 things and got both of them: a 55 inch LG LED TV for $499 and a Kenwood DVD head unit for my car, both at Best Buy. It was madness.

We celebrate St. Patricks day too.

And as far as I'm concerned, the Queen's face is on her money and that's about it.

I took my sister to get an iPod. There were tons of people and the lines were long but the people weren't crazy or anything.

Black Friday has started to creep in over here too in the last few years- only online, when Amazon started it a few years ago. It was actually quite fun then, with cryptic clues and decent discounts like Wii's for £50 etc.. The last couple though has just been their excuse to get shot of a load of tat.

It was the first time I can remember actual shops doing anything- although with Asda being owned by Walmart it was only a matter of time. Was absolute carnage even though the deals weren't that much to write home about, no brack Friday Burundu either.
