You chose not to believe in God so you do not fear God. seems like a pretty shitty reason to believe or promote religion IMO. Believe it if you think it's true, you think it's right, moralistic or whatever, not because you think hey I better keep my back covered just incase you know who is waiting for me on the other side.

I know I probably seem like I've got a huge thing against religion and I don't really but now and again there's just some stuff I need to vent on.
