degress are all honours, hence why you have BA (Hons) or BSc (Hons). as for the league tables, you have to see what they are basing their scoring on. a lot of universities score very poorly because they fail to meet their quotas on people from underpriveleged or ethnic backgrounds

dunno if it's different down south but here you do three years for your "basic" degree then if you want to do honours/ masters you do another year but you dont need to.

stuff like medicine and law are longer obviously.

when i finish my 3rd year i'll have a Bachelor of arts in social sciences, if i stay on for another year (which im not) it would be a BA (hons)

ah yeh, sorry, you have 4 year honours degrees. you get to go to uni at 17 though don't you?

you can get in if you get enough in your 1st set of highers which you sit in 5th year so you're around early 17ish yeah. most people wait till after 6th year though so they're 18 or nearly 18 by time they go.

a pleb at my school left after 5th year to go to glasgow uni but because her birthday was so late with regards to the school year she couldn't even get into her union till she was nearly finished 2nd year.
