In England you can either by a ticket ahead or pay for one on the train to a conductor that comes around. I recomend you do that because sometimes the conductor may miss you and you get a free ride. You may be able to dodge him by going to the toilet at the right time or something. If you are coming to England though I recomend you take plenty of money because our government taxes almost everything and it's an expensive place to live. You may have to buy tickets at the ticket office, a few hours before the train is due in bigger cities.

Good luck. I can't tell you much more because I don't use public transport very often.

don't risk trying to avoid them though - they always find you... and if they do it will cost a lot...

but if you have an interrail ticket you should be fine... and if you want to sit next to each other there'll be no problems at all.

On the screens above the chairs it will say if the seats are unreserved, or for example it might say reserved: Birmingham to Reading...

there's always seats next to each other...

and it shouldn't cost anything extra here at all.

Hey, we come from Finland, the most expensive Euro-land... We know what high taxes and prices are, so don't worry
