Trouble with Men

Before the guys get their boxers in a knot, this is not a male bashing thread. I just got a question, anyone having a problem trying to find a good guy? If I was to tell you some stories about some of the guys I have met, you guys would laugh! One guy was so simpleminded I think hamsters have higher IQ's! Another date went soooo bad(the guy just talked about himself the WHOLE time) that I'll quote a line from the movie Threesome "I think I'd rather have a dog fart in me face then go out with him again!" LOL! Anyways, anyone else having trouble trying to find an all around good guy. I mean someone who lives up to your ideals(whatever they may be) One of my beefs is when you have standards and people think your picky. Knowing what you want does not constitute pickyness, just if someone is an all around good person, and a good catch, why is it so hard to find their right counterpart? This post can apply to the guys too. I'm sure it's as hard to find a good woman as it is to find a good man. Just thought I'd vent!

Hmmm, there you said something. I actually found two good women in my life so far but none of them saw the good man in me I wished they would see. I'm always just the good friend on whose shoulder you can cry...

I'm sorry to hear that. I've got a coupleof male friends that have stated the same thing

Sounds familiar.... I know a girl who has relationship after relationship and every man sounds really cool, but how does it come that I never meet the right guys?? Am I too critical..? (probably )

But what are the right places? There was a survey once that most people meet their partner at work or at the gym/sports club. Most of my colleagues are all settled and when you look at the singles, you know immediately why they are still single.........

conceited as it sounds, I have my failings but I think i'm a pretty good catch and a nice guy.

I don;t really know what happened but up till a certain point I was again just the nice guy they like to be friends with then I barely went without a girl for a few years.

Well, any place ends up with the same type of man. It doesn't seem to matter where I met them. yeah I agree Jim that there are nice guys out there. the problem is finding them!

I think it is a case of finding what your interests and beliefs are, I think a lot of people look in the wrong places, for example if you dont want a beer swilling clubbing sad dick head then dont look for guys at clubs or pubs.

I have only ever been in a serious relationship where the man has been a friend first for months, this way you know them as friends and see how they relate to their x,s family, jobs and beliefs.

People get involved to quickly now . whats the hurry , better to take you time and spend the rest of your life with the right man rather than a he will do for now and get stuck with the wrong one.

ahem being that I go to clubs and drink pretty frequently as do about 99% of the population my age I think thats a pretty big blanket statement Dawn.

It's like sayign everyone you meet int he gym will look like Arnie whereas most of the folk there are fat old people.
