UK Bomb Threats

The bomb scare at Ibiza airport has turned out to be false. But they got what they want: attention, scaring people, ruining people's plans. And it's all thank to our own home extremists

I'm going to the UK and I'm not scared. I mean, every place is a possibility for these people, and it's all we can do to go on as usual. I was in London last August when the plans to attack those planes where discovered and I actually felt very safe. The police were efficient and helpful and where we expected chaos it was quite the opposite.

Christine has made a excellent point here. It's times like this that we should feel SAFEST about traveling. The security are everywhere and no-extremest is gonna continue attempting stuff like this while the country is on high-alert. There is no point them trying to explode bombs if they're attempts are going to be foiled...

The whole situation sucks - big time. But I have to weigh in on the "living your life" side. You can't worry about about every little thing - you'd be like my mother-in-law who would never visit us when we lived in San Francisco. She KNEW that the earthqualke was going to hit just when she was there

I was at a concert at Madison Square Garden a week after 9-11. Everybody I knew advised me not to go - pfftt... As Kev said - if your number is up - it's up. You can die in bed being timid - or you can die enjoying yourself. Clearly we would all prefer not to die (right away) but I couldn't sit in the house and be afraid either. It just isn't my personality.

ive barely drank since i got out the hospital to be honest.

i had a glass of wine and a gin with dinner the other week, a pint on thursday and one last night down the pub and i just cant be bothered drinking anymore.

the body is willing but the mind is not

though i do feel quite in the mood for a sesh tonight and it's graduation on monday, i'm sure ill have sorted it out by then.

I appreciate what your saying, what gets me is that the asians that do this target innocent individuals and thier wives and children and mothers, it was ladies night at that club for gods sake, my sister and cousin go to bars and they are not "slags", yet they can get away with it, if we start calling asians or attacking them then we get called racist, when its not. If we went to another country we would expect to act with respect, yet over here they want it all the muslim way, which is wrong, one day we will get revenge, and i'm at the front of the queue

I must admit the 'we will get revenge' bit confuses me too.

As individuals a large proportion probably don't agree with what has gone on in the Middle East, but as a nation we have acted horrifically. There is no way terrorism can be justified but as a nation we are not blameless in giving them their motivation, far from it. In his country the innocent are getting targeted for the decisions made by our Government who don't seem to be able to think for themselves and do what is best for the nation as a whole.
