It's still raining pretty much all the time and I hear that the floods are still affecting lots of people - on the radio they were saying that some people in Hull may not be able to return to their homes for up to a year.

While we've had rain, I count myself lucky not to live in an area that's had floods.

We've had rain on and off for weeks up here too, but fortunately we live in quite a hilly area, so it kind of flows right past us. Must be terrible for people who've lost their homes to it, I can't even begin to imagine that

As for coming over here, well it depends where you want to go. It isn't like the country is sinking or anything, it's only flooded in some places - just depends if you like rain or not, because we've all got that lol

Correct me if I'm wrong but floods are 'quite' typical in the UK. I know York floods quite 'regularly'. And once I went to Haworth right after some huge floods and later saw several pictures of previous ones.

The odd flooded road, yes, quite normal. Floods that rise above cars, fill sports arenas and leave thousands homeless, no, not a regular occurance.

Well technically it is, due to isostatic rebound but that has nothing to do with why it's flooding at the moment.

Please bring some good weather with you to Edinburgh! The last couple of days haven't been too bad but saying that, it is raining as I look out of my window now.

My brother lives in Hull and his student dig got flooded. He wasn't gonna be going home to Skegness over the summer hols but I think he has reconsidered now as the resident mice have all relocated to the upper floors where he would be sleeping!

Hull is by far one of THE worst places you can live in the UK with respect to flooding. It's only gonna get more common too so god knows what peeps are gonna do now that insurance firms are refusing to cover their properties. Houses will just become unsaleable.

I think most of the floods were flash floods, the weekend should be dry but more heavy rain is due Monday then it should be dry again.

My friend said there was still problems in Hull yesterday . Scotland seems fine spoke to a lady there last night.
